What fillers?
We selected a variety of grains for a wholesome mix. Most commercial feeds have just one grain, along with soy. More often than not, the grains are low-quality fillers. We never use fillers. Our grains are food grade and organic.
Lots of protein, No synthetics.
Organic pumpkin seeds are packed with protein and good fats. They are also a natural defense against some parasites. Amino acids are the building blocks of life. Pumpkin seeds contain almost all of them, including an especially important one for chickens called methionine. The main source of methionine in most chicken feed is synthetic. We don’t use synthetic ingredients.
Organic field peas and fish meal provide protein and vitamins which are great for feathers because they are mostly made of protein. An adequate protein source reduces feather-picking. In addition, it is vital during molting because it helps to speed feather recovery. Fish meal is also rich in lysine, another important amino acid.
No weak shells here.
Calcium is a crucial element for strong egg shells and bone development. Calcium carbonate provides most of these requirements. Crab meal not only supplies calcium, it contains chitin which aids in feather production. It also works as a natural pest control when the droppings are composted and used in the garden.
Power plants.
There are a variety of herbs in our mix that all have a purpose. We’ve selected ones that are antibacterial, anti-inflammatory or great for overall well-being. Calendula (marigold flowers) Which produce richer yolks and aid in the production of vitamin A. And spirulina, which increases immunity and helps reduce mortality. Spirulina can also have a positive effect on weight gain and fertility.
